Creating Balance in the Office with Feng Shui

By Carol Cannon, BBEC, Certified Feng Shui Consultant

Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese art of placement that helps to ensure that you have a balanced business environment. Feng Shui allows you to see how your “Ch’I”, or life force energy, is moving within the office. This relates to the location and position of your desk, what is surrounding you on your walls, and what you place on your desk.

Most people spend approximately one third of their daily life at work. Everything that you bring into your office is symbolic. In the world of Feng Shui, we analyze an environment based on nine different areas, from Career to Wealth to Relationships, each with specific meanings. If these are out of balance, they can affect you personally. Thus, your office needs to be treated with respect.

Following is a list of the nine areas, known as the Bagua, and each area’s specific meaning in your environment.
